2010 Viognier
Our estate Viognier is the first release from the 2010 vintage, and with its lovely aromatics and sumptuous flavors, is a perfect herald of spring! The vines are planted along the very crest of our Spring Mountain property where they soak up the afternoon sunlight that ripens them to perfection. While the 2010 vintage was full of surprises and a heat spike led to sunburn in many Napa Valley vineyards, our ambient temperatures never exceeded the 90's and our vines up above the fog line were unaffected. Grapes were harvested in six passes between October 12th and October 26th and were then fermented in 50% stainless steel and 50% neutral (at least five years old) oak barrels, with periodic lees stirring to create texture and weight.
