2010 Sangiovese
The 2010 vintage was even a bit cooler than 2009, but as we are learning, with hard work in the vineyard, these cool vintages can be turned to our advantage. Ripeness, concentration and varietal expression are all present in spades with the 2010 Sangiovese and the slightly lower brix level at harvest has translated into a lovely texture, balance and purity. A pretty nose of red cherry, strawberry, plum compote and brioche notes is followed by a round palate packed with expressive fruit. The wine finishes with an impressive display of refined tannin structure. This Sangiovese was blended with 20% clone 337 cabernet sauvignon which adds both a suppleness to the mid-palate and some wow to the finish.
