2011 Cabernet Franc
This wine is all about dark flavors, from blueberry to blackberry to the purest dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is a push-and-pull between its dense but round tannins and its thick mid-palate, a delicious competition to determine which side of its complex personality will prevail. The wine is blended with 12% Cabernet Sauvignon from our County Line Hillside and Winery Ruins (the site of the remains of Summit Winery, established in 1890 and destroyed by fire during the 1920's) vineyard blocks. With its fully ripe, blue-black flavors and none of the herbaceousness that Cabernet Franc is somewhat infamous for, this is our original "cult wine," a wine that represents well what we are all about at Pride Mountain Vineyards and that really stands out from the pack.
